In our commitment to a culture of healthcare safety and quality in surgery, Caresyntax has established a Patient Safety Organization (PSO).
The Caresyntax Patient Safety Organization offers its member providers the opportunity to embark on a robust surgical variation reduction, error reduction, and quality improvement program with the greatest assurance that the information generated by that effort will remain confidential.
Elevate quality improvement, surgical variation reduction and error reduction activities performed across PSO participants.
Generate meaningful quality and safety benchmarks for participant use.
Identify opportunities for improvements in surgical quality and patient safety and disseminate best practices.
The federal Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act of 2005 allowed for the creation of PSOs to help address barriers to quality and patient safety improvement, specifically: the protected sharing of confidential quality information across healthcare organizations. PSOs provide federal protections which are more comprehensive than state laws, allowing provider quality and safety information to be confidentially shared across sites and organizations.
Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange across healthcare organizations.
Drive continuous improvement in healthcare delivery and outcomes.
Grant privilege and confidentiality protections to information submitted by participating providers.
For more information on PSOs, please see materials made available by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality at:
https://www.pso.ahrq.gov/The Caresyntax Patient Safety Organization was federally listed in 2019 as a component organization of Caresyntax Corporation. It provides participants the opportunity to enhance their current surgical quality improvement and patient safety processes, with the greatest assurance that the information generated will remain confidential.
Caresyntax PSO's goal is to be recognized as a gold standard for patient safety and quality within surgery.
